Guild Rules

  • 1. Respect is mandatory. Treat all members as equals. Be thoughtful of others even when joking.
  • 2. Personal Integrity and Maturity are expected. Don't start drama. Childishness and melodrama has no place here.
  • 3. Do not "grief" other players. Don't attempt to ruin the game for others.
  • 4. Ask not what the guild can do for you, ask what you can do for the guild. Members are expected to work together for the betterment of all. Don't expect more than you give. There are many ways to contribute to improve the community we are trying to build.
  • 5. All activities involving the game are voluntary. No demands should be put upon any player's time or resources.
  • 6. Be supportive. If you give, you are going to receive. We are a team.
  • 7. Need before Greed. Always. When in a guild only group, the need before greed code is always in effect. Selfishness is not tolerated.
  • 8. Uphold the good reputation of the guild. Our reputation should make our members proud, and other people happy to have us around. Don't let your guild mates down.
  • 9. WTF. For the most part we are all adults in this guild, but please be respectful that some are offended by certain language. Be respectful and limit foul language in ventrilo and guild chat - Racial, homophobic, severely sexual or severely abusive language will not be tolerated and will result in a report to a GM and a kick.
  • 10. No-one is above the Team. No one person makes the guild as great as it is, it's the combined effort of all of us. No-one is above the rules, or the raid rules. Putting your own interests before the team will never be tolerated here.

  • If you feel like any of these rules are being broken, please report it to Talaan, Kajman or an officer. Break any of these rules yourself and expect a warning, continued abuse will lead to a kick.

  • Raids
  • Mods/Ventrilo. Vent is required for raids, along with a Threat Meter and a Boss Mod. These are purely for the benefit of the entire raid. We're all willing to help you install/configure mods and vent.
  • Internet Connection. Some nights your ISP is your worst enemy, not your fault, we know it's happened to us all! But if your connection is dodgy during a raid, the raid leader can replace you at will.
  • AFK. We do have a designated break in the middle of the raid, but if you must go AFK during a run, you must notify the raid leader with an expected return time in a PM.
  • Raid Leaders. You must respect the raid leaders instructions and follow them though. The raid leaders decision is final. If you have any problems, take it up in a whisper, NOT raid chat/vent!
  • Mains & Alts. Everyone will have a designated main raiding character, and you are expected to stick to it. Alts are only allowed into raids on the raid leaders instruction. If you wish to change your main, you must take it up with the officers.

    Attendance & Rotation

  • Attendance Policy. We will operate on a basis of a gentleman's agreement for attendance. What this means is that: We expect everyone to be able to attend as many raids as possible. But we're not going to punish anyone for not being able to attend a raid, as we all have lives outside of the game, and that should come before the game and raids. But as a raider we expect you to honour your commitment to the guild, and be available for as many raids as you can.
  • Rotation. We became a 10 man guild so that we could let our real lives take priority over Warcraft, we don't expect everyone to be hitting 100% attendance. And because of this will have a squad of raiders and we will quite often be over signed for raids and have to rotate people. The GM & Officer team will pick the team with the following in mind: Class balance, experience of a certain fight/raid and attendance. Understand there will be no bias in this, only objective choices, we're all adults here and I expect no drama, and will not tolerate any over this.

    -
    Signups

  • Raid Obligation. If you sign-up to a raid, we expect you to be able to stay until at least 11:30pm (Server). If you don't think you can raid until the expected finish time, please put this in the sign-up comment and inform the raid leader before the raid has begun.
  • phpraider Raids will be put up on phpraider, and people will be confirmed at least 24 hours before a raid starts.
  • Signing Up Everyone must signup as either available or not available for every raid that is on phpraider, where possible! If you're not sure that you can attend, say so in your note.
  • What Time Do You Call This?! We will be much more punctual with raids from now, in Wrath we could let 30 minutes or so pass, without even engaging anything. If you're confirmed and can't make the raid for any reason, you can let us know via the forums, phpraider or even send me a text message! If you're confirmed and not online 10 minutes after raid start time, we will replace you, if not heard from.

    -
    Loot

  • Loot Distribution. Loot will be rolled for, with the highest roll winning.
  • Loot Council. The GM/RL/Officers will reside over a loot council, that will step in if it's a much bigger upgrade for someone else, or other issues of common sense. We generally expect everyone to know when to roll and when to pass though.
  • Common Sense I don't need to write elaborate rules to define who is claim to loot is more valid that others, we're all adults, and we place a general 'common sense' law on loot (clothies get first pick on cloth etc.)

    -
    Miscellaneous

  • Situations not covered by rules. Should a situation arise that is not covered in the Guild, raid or DKP rules (or has not been decided on yet), the raid leader and officers will make a judgment call in the interest of fairness and guild progression.
  • But most importantly of all, We're all in this for fun! As always if you have any concerns over anything, please do bring it to my attention. In Wrath I was pretty busy with managing the guild, along with raids, and having to take Briany home straight after raids. Scaling down to 10's and allowing Kajman to help lead raids will give me more time to be able to make sure you're all happy. In Wrath everyone was here because we needed everyone here just to raid, in Cata, you're all here because I want you to be here, and want to raid with you. So please do come to me with any issues, no matter how small and I promise I will hear you out and do what I can to help.

    Trials for New Recruits

  • All new members are subject to a trial period, which will be based on; their willingness to play as part of a team, their ability to give 110% in raids, their general ability in raids and their social maturity. If we feel you're not capable of all of these, you will fail your trial.
  • During trial periods, full guild members will get priority on loot. Loot will be passed down to new recruits providing no-one else wants the item.
  • Trial periods can last from a fortnight, to a month. We'll review it when we feel the time is right and feel that you've become part of our community.
  • We expect near 100% attendance, but we understand we all have a life outside of the game, and we allow nights off (e.g. a Birthday!)
